Admiral and Mrs. Burke Busts

Admiral Arleigh Albert Burke was a legendary war hero who served an unprecedented three terms as Chief of Naval Operations. Burke won the nickname “31-knot Burke” from the daring speed with which he maneuvered the ships of DESRON 23 before the battle of Cape St. George in 1943. During a 40-year career, the dedicated husband and wife team of Admiral and Mrs. Burke touched the lives of thousands of Navy men and women- and their families.

In Memory of LCDR Augustine “Tony” Santille, USN

Roberta Gorsuch Burke, or “Bobbie” as she was known, shared the illustrious career of her husband Admiral Arleigh A. Burke as they moved from billet to billet all over the country, and at home where when he was stationed abroad.
