Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST)
The Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST) program offers advanced academic preparation and an opportunity to earn a college scholarship. BOOST prepares selected high school graduates, Naval Reservists and active duty Navy and Marine Corps personnel to become eligible for Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) scholarships to civilian colleges and universities or appointments to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD.

Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS)
The mission of NAPS is to prepare selected candidates for admission who are judged to need additional academic preparation so that they will be able to perform successfully as midshipmen at the U.S. Naval Academy, the Merchant Marine Academy, or as cadets at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.  The 10-month course of instruction at NAPS, lasting from August through May, emphasizes preparation in English Composition, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Information Technology.

Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC)
Selected applicants for the NROTC Scholarship Program are awarded scholarships through a highly competitive national selection process, and receive full tuition, books, fees and other financial benefits at many of the country's leading colleges and universities. Upon graduation, midshipmen are commissioned as officers in the unrestricted line Naval Reserve or Marine Corps Reserve.

United States Naval Academy
The Naval Academy's curriculum blends professional development courses with required and elective courses similar to those offered at leading civilian colleges.  Upon successful completion of the graduation requirements, you are commissioned as a Navy ensign or a Marine Corps second lieutenant and are awarded a bachelor of science degree, regardless of your major, because of the technical content of the core curriculum.

United States Merchant Marine Academy
This provides you with a bachelor of science degree, merchant marine license, and a commissioning as an officer on reserve or active duty in the United States Armed Forces.  The brunt of tuition is paid for by the government, but midshipmen are required to make a few small purchases, such as calculator and computer.

United States Civil Engineers Corps
A student can join the Civil Engineer Corps Officer Candidate School either two years prior to achieving a Bachelor's degree or one year prior to receiving a Master's degree.  If selected, the student will be placed on reserve duty, and given money while still in school.  Following graduation students receive training at Officer Candidate School and a commission.

Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate (NUPOC)
Qualified students in the NUPOC program are offered: A $6,000 signing bonus, a monthly stipend of $2,000, an additional $2,000 bonus upon completion of training, full medical and dental coverage, free military travel and 30 days paid vacation each year!

Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences

Nurse Candidate Program (NCP)

Tuition, fees, books, required clothing, and required equipment are paid for by the Naval Reserve. Participants are authorized simultaneous Reserve Montgomery GI Bill benefits, if eligible.

Reserve Montgomery GI Bill
