Navy Memorials Around The Country

San Diego, California

A replica of The Homecoming© statue was dedicated in San Diego on August 13, 1998. The statue resides on Harbor Drive, next to the waterfront. The statue is near the USS Midway aircraft carrier museum.

The Homecoming© statue is located near the country's largest West Coast naval base. It replicates "daily occurrences" as Sailors and Marines ship in and out of port from San Diego Harbor. The statue was place in San Diego to honor "all Sea Service Personnel and their families." It also celebrates San Diego's strong ties to each of the sea services.

The Homecoming© Statue was funded by a unique partnership between the San Diego Padres, the Port of San Diego, the San Diego Council of the Navy League and the Fleet Reserve Association.
